Jaiprakash Associates Ltd has commissioned a cement grinding and blending plant at Bagheri in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh.

The plant has an annual capacity to produce 1.75 million tonnes of cement and will generate 500 jobs.
“The state exchequer will benefit by over Rs 100 crore per year on account of state taxes, additional goods tax, sales tax and service tax,” a company official said. “Plant equipment have been procured from Italy. Pollution control technology will keep emissions below 50 mg/Nm3,” the official said.The state government had cleared the project in 2004.Construction work began a year later.
