The stock gained 2.4 per cent to Rs 1,178.15, a lifetime high, after the company announced more than 100 per cent growth in its domestic auto sales for the month of December 2009. The domestic auto sales stood at 22,754 units, as against 10,253 units in December 2008, up 2.22 times.

The Utility Vehicles sales in December 2009, which includes the Scorpio, the XYLO, the Bolero and Pick-Ups, stands at 16,999 units as against 7,726 units in December 2008, a growth of 2.20 times. The company announced the launch of the Maxximo, the world’s first mini truck, powered by a 2-cylinder CRD engine with DDHC technology and 4 valves per cylinder.
