Asian markets end flat; Hang Seng up 1%
The Asian markets ended on a mixed note. The Hang Seng advanced 218 points or 1% to 21,678. The Nikkei declined 91 points or 1% to 10,764.

Sensex ends down 169pts

The Sensex has finally ended (provisional) at 16,789 - down 169 points. Sterlite has advanced 6.5% each to Rs 823. Jaiprakash Associates has surged 4% to Rs 240. BHEL, Hindalco and Tata Steel have increased over 2.5% each to Rs 2,489, Rs 129 and Rs 524, respectively. HDFC Bank, Tata Motors and DLF are up 1-2% each. The BSE IT index has slipped 2.5% to 4,435. Consumer durables has advanced 5.5% to 3,661.
