Sensex ends down 93pts

The Sensex has finally ended (provisional) at 17,096, down 94 points. The NSE Nifty has ended (provisional) at 5,112, down 23 points. The BSE Bankex has slipped 1% to 10,114. BHEL is the only major gainer on the Sensex, up 3% at Rs 2,362 and Infosys is up 1% at Rs 2,467, respectively. Bharti Airtel has slipped 2.5% to Rs 333. ICICI Bank, Jaiprakash Associates and Sun Pharmaceuticals have slipped 1% each at Rs 229 and Rs 1,438,respectively. The market breadth remains weak, out of 2,879 shares traded, 1,1596 have declined and 1,185 have advanced so far on the BSE.
